Our Opinion

Many big names have played here. Follow in their footsteps on this great course!  Favourite Hole: 18th.

Golf International Barrière La Baule, St André des Eaux

In the Brière national park west of Nantes, La Baule boasts two 18 hole championship courses plus a 9 hole. The original Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas design, since revamped and expanded, hosted the French Open so you can follow in the footsteps of the pros across both 18 hole courses.

The Lucien Barrière course winds through mature woodland, skirts a huge lake around the turn and boasts impressive bunkers – offering a perfect balance between the pleasure and challenges of golf.

The Diane Barrière-Desseigne course is longer and has an American feel to it – narrow fairways, lots of water, lots of sand and wide well-defended greens.

As you might expect the facilities are top notch; not just a distinctive clubhouse, covered practice areas, equipment hire and putting greens, but a swimming pool too!

The resort of La Baule, on the Atlantic coast, a popular resort for French and foreign visitors alike, with Europe’s longest resort beach at 12 kilometres.
