Our Opinion

One of Brittany’s best golf resorts – top class course and fabulous clubhouse. Favourite Hole: 6th.

Golf de St Malo, Le Tronchet

Designed by Hubert Chesneau, the man behind Ryder Cup venue Golf National, there are two courses set in the ancient hunting grounds of Mesnil Forest; a 9 and 18 hole.

Both have matured very well over the past quarter of a century, and from first to last this is amongst the very finest of the new generation of French golf courses … And it’s only half an hour from the ferry terminal at St Malo.

There’s water on several holes and some fiendishly positioned bunkers – but don’t be put off because the fairways are mostly wide and the greens true. The 6th, a fabulous par three and 16th, a fantastic par four, both require approach shots over water, so go for it and enjoy!

This is an ideal place to play and stay with a very good on-site hotel, restaurant and bar.
